How To Make Good Decisions & Stick With Them
We all have moments in our lives when we have to make decisions. Sometimes the decisions come easily, and sometimes it feels as if our whole body is frozen and we cannot move past the many options in front of us. This is why, in this new year and new resolution season, I wanted to share my “go-to” process to make smart decisions and stick to them without having to second-guess yourself. After we “Marie Kondo” our homes, it’s time we “Marie Kondo” our lives! Here are some simple tools to understand how.
How to host a Zero Waste Event – PART I
From weddings to professional meetings, any gathering can be turned into a zero waste event. Large or small, personal or corporate, they are a lot more easy that I would have thought it could be. My organization recently hosted an event with my co-workers and the way they cut on anything that generates trash was too inspiring for me not to write a post on the matter.
How to have an eco-friendly manicure
Getting a pedi or a mani is a pleasure that I have the hardest difficulties to let go of. So instead of letting it go, I decided to search for an eco-friendly manicure!
Growing up I never had any. The idea would never even pop up in my head. In France, it was all about the good ol’ DIY fashion way. When I visited the US as a teenager and later when I moved here, getting manicures and pedicures by professionals was my own little revolution. I was seeing it as my affordable way to get a nice beauty treat.
Yet, as I grow more each day into the world of sustainability and zero waste, I am having a harder time with some of this industry’s wasteful and toxic practices (from conception to treatments in salons.) It all has gone from awesome to awwww-not-so-some-and-getting-close-to-full.
So I wanted to address this topic as I am probably not the only one who longs for waste free and eco-friendly manicures.
Where to find nice clothes when going zero waste
Zero waste is a serious blessing. Yes, I said it. I love how it encourages us to slow down, improve our health, help us save (a lot of) money and find better ways to shop for the stuff we need, like clothes. When we go down the zero waste rabbit hole, we start paying attention to things we’ve never questioned before. How every thing we do has an impact on our world. Fast fashion has a big one.
DIY: How To Make Sunscreen & Why You Should Stop Using Your Conventional Brand
Summer is here! And with summer comes the sun and our need for sunscreen.
Personally, this is my favorite season. Temperature is going up, which means I can wear dresses, nice tops, and go to the ocean or the river as much as I want/can! Yet, to do so, I personally need to put sun protection on my skin, overwise my skin turns pink/red and I turn into a cooked shrimp.
I’m sure you can relate.
This year, I feel comfortable sharing about zero waste sunscreen. I spent many hours learning about the making process and the ingredients to put on our skin. My take away is that I will no longer buy one in a conventional supermarket.
Zero Waste In France: My Takeaways
I came back to France recently to visit my family, and as I am more and more engaged in the zero waste movement, I found myself naturally more aware of the waste and the eco conscious practices happening around me. I stayed in the city of Bordeaux and was amazed by all the great achievements accomplished there. Cities but also the country, local businesses and the people everyone seem to be doing its part. It was refreshing to see things from a “different” perspective.

5 things you can change today to reduce your waste
When it comes to reducing our waste it can be hard and overwhelming to decide where to start. If you’re just getting started, I recommend you read this post to learn more about what Zero-Waste and its basics. One thing though that made it clear when I first started were disposable items. They were a big part of my new American life. After spending a couple of weeks, analyzing what was filling my trash bin, it was a no-brainer, I needed to change my daily habits and switch from disposable to reusable containers and utensils.
I came to realize that there were about 5 items that had become a real problem, and if I were able to change these 5 things, I would be more in tune with my goals and values.

Top 10 Sustainable Fashion Brands You’ll Actually Want to Wear
The French gal that I am won’t tell you any differently, fashion is super important! But fashion is also a huge actor in trashing our planet. I am not just talking about seasonal trends, but the industry as a whole. I lost touch with it for the past few years and I recently decided to get my head off the sand. I got overwhelmed by the waste generated by fast fashion and the terrible working conditions in the cotton fields and in the manufacturing facilities. This has to stop, and we have the power to make things change. We vote every day with our wallets and that’s why I decided to take a look at sustainable fashion brands. I was so pleased and full of hope when I found more cool brands than I was anticipating!!
